Here’s When You Jump Into Battlefront II’s Public Beta

This October 6.

Yes. That’s how soon you can hop into the public beta for Star Wars: Battlefront II. As confirmed by EA’s APAC Regional Manager, players can expect to get an appetiser of sorts for the game, a month ahead of its full release come November 17 2017.

Bigger maps, more vehicles and special characters and thank the maker – a single player campaign. Also, check out the awesome, newly released trailer of the game below.

EA even released a graph comparing the sequel to its 2015 predecessor and from the looks of things, we stand to get over triple the number of locations, double the amount of heroes and almost triple the types of vehicles you are able to pilot. Yes. We’ll get Kamino, Yavin 4, Kashyyk, Jakku and even Starkiller Base. Oh did you know you can pilot a Tauntaun as shown during the first reveal at Star Wars Celebration Day?

As if that wasn’t enough, you’ll get to play as characters across all three Star Wars trilogies on multiplayer which means a Kylo Ren vs Darth Vader deathmatch is totally possible. Mind you, there will be 14 playable heroes this time so just imagine the possibilities.

The introduction of classes in the player progression system allows a deeper sense of progression on multiplayer which hopefully adds to the longevity of the game itself. This also bleeds to the vehicles so that’s pretty interesting. The last time Battlefront came out, the number of players plummeted a couple months after The Force Awakens hit the cinemas due to dying hype and lack of content so this is probably EA’s answer to avoiding similar issue.

And yes – don’t forget the single player experience. Battlefront II will put players in the other side of the conflict – the Galactic Empire –  in the shoes of Commander Iden Versio of Inferno Squad. She’s a badass, she’s out to kick some Rebel butt and players will somehow get to understand the motivation of the members of the Empire, rather than seeing them as mindless, faceless enemies. A bold move on EA’s part to do so and I’m sold on picking up the game just by this premise alone.

Anyway the hype for Star Wars is definitely picking up steam ahead of Episode VIII’s release and the game hitting shelves a month before the movie screening surely helps. I’m a huge Star Wars fan so expect to read more of Battlefront II here – despite me feeling super annoyed with the lack of content in the first. I have a good feeling about this one. Trust. In. The. Force.

For full details of the beta, stay tuned. We are doing some digging for full details and what the event entails – you know – what do we get, what’s in it etc etc.

Star Wars: Battlefront.II releases worldwide come November 17 2017 and will be available on the PS4, Xbox One and PC.
