In the new game mode, players can form squads of up to four people and then merge them into a random team to be either part of a 50-player side and teammates will appear with chevrons on each of their characters. In this new mode, friendly fire will be turned off and teammates are able to aid those on their side- those have been downed but not killed off. So instead of the last man standing, the winner will be determined on the last of the two teams that remain.
Publishers Epic claims that 30 million accounts have been created since the game’s launch to download and play the game and this figure include users who paid full price for Fortnite  as well as those who downloaded the free-to-play Battle Royale version.
