ILLEGEAR Unveils New 17.3-In S Series Variant, S7 Elite

Acquiring a brand new gaming laptop is such a challenge nowadays and in most cases, a costly one as well. If you are to spend at least twice your monthly salary on a gaming laptop, it better be on one that ticks all the right boxes, performs when required, future proofed and most importantly, stands out from other machines. A decent gaming laptop requires a substantial investment and wouldn’t you want a unique rig that is possibly one of a kind after splashing about RM8000 on it? Well look no further; Enter ILLEGEAR.
Custom gaming laptop producers ILLEGEAR yesterday unveiled the new 17.3†variant under their S series product line, the S7 Elite. Measuring a a sleek 24.89mm in thickness, the new S7 Elite sports a 3.1kg chassis and is 5mm slimmer than its predecessor – the S7.
Under the hood, the S7 Elite is powered by Intel Core i7-7700HQ processor with the option to upgrade to i7-7820HK. The default display for the S7 Elite is 17.3†Full HD IPS/AHVA Anti-glare Display and just like all ILLEGEAR products, comes with an option to upgrade to a 4K QFHD Anti-glare Display at RM1,499.Â
The S7 Elite can be customized with either Nvidia GTX 1060 6GB or GTX 1070 8GB graphics card and up to 32GB DDR4 RAM (dual ram slots). In a move to future proof it, ILLEGEAR equipped the S7 Elite with Thunderbolt™ 3 port, enabling users to connect to an external GPU enclosure. It also comes with one SATA 3.0 slot, one M.2 SATA slot and one M.2 PCIe slot for users’ big storage needs.
An improvement from the old S7, the S7 Elite comes with a tri-zone RGB programmable backlit chiclet keyboard and SoundBlasterX® Pro-Gaming 720° sound tuning software. An upgrade from the usual 3w subwoofer is the 4w subwoofer with the S7 Elite as well as a larger 66Wh battery in spite of its weight and size.
The S7 Elite retails from RM7,299 which boasts an i7-7700HQ processor, GTX1060 6GB GDDR5, 8GB DDR4 2400MHz and 1TB 7200RPM Hitachi 2.5†Hard Drive and can go up to RM10,796 which comes with the following specs; 17.3†4K QFHD (G-Sync) screen, i7-7820HK, GTX1070 8GB GDDR5, 8GB DDR4 2400MHz, with 1TB 7200RPM Hitachi 2.5†Hard Drive.Â
