Overwatch League – Dynasty Climbs to 4-0 as Mayhem Chalks First Win.
By Kenn LeandreVerified|January 20, 2018|0 Comment
Day three, Week 2 of the inaugural Overwatch League season ends with teams playing to the script as Seoul Dynasty registers another 4-0 win to send them to the top of the league, London Spitfire adding more misery to Dallas Fuel’s already misearble, controversy-laden week while Mayhem finally broke their losing streak by defeating another team in trouble, Shanghai Dynasty.
Uprising Denied By Dynasty
There were no two ways about it – Dynasty were way too strong for the boys from Boston who despite having given a spirited fight, found themselves lacking in every department. Backed by the solid Lunatic-Hai quartet of Zunba, Tobi, Miro and Ryujehong mostly throught the series, the DPS trio of Fleta, Bunny and Weeked were free to pop-off heads, harass backlines and rain grenades throughout. Boston will have the opportunity to get back on winning ways as they take on San Francisco Shock on Sunday.

Mayhem Chalks First Ever Win Over Much Improved Dragons
In a battle of two 0-3 teams, Florida Mayhem came out tops as they confidently overcome Shanghai Dragons 4-0 to lock in their first win of the season. Could it be due to their improved teamwork or perhaps it’s the Korean-infused intro that led to the win? The boys of Florida Mayhem don’t care as their Gangnam Style walk-in proved to be a lucky charm as they brushed aside the much improved Shanghai Dragons.

The Dragons showed more life in the series against Mayhem but were still a way off from claiming their first win in the OWL. Their team coach, Van yesterday released an official statement addressing the current form of the team and promised for improvement in the near future. They will have a week to regroup before facing league leaders, Seoul Dynasty next week so we don’t think this losing streak is about to end anytime soon.

Spitfire Torches FuelÂ
Despite starting with a ‘Classic EnVyUs’ lineup, the win was again elusive for the struggling Dallas Fuel as red hot London Spitfire showed the huge gulf between the top-tier teams from the also-rans to win the series 3-1. With xQc out of the picture due to his suspension, Fuel opted to stick to their core and only subbed-in Seagull for the third map, Oasis, which they won. The highly anticipated Birdring v Seagull showdown on Oasis was the highlight of the series as Fuel clawed one back but Spitfire’s overall team quality proved to be the difference on the fourth map, Numbani. Another memorable play on Oasis was Profit’s triple eliminations using Junkrat’s Rip Tyre.
The loss sends Dallas Fuel to the bottom of the standings, spared off the foot of the table due to better points difference compared to Shanghai Dragons. Spitfire face LA Valiant in a mouth watering clash early on Sunday while Fuel get to regroup ahead of two very winnable matches against San Francisco Shock and Boston Uprising next week.
