Dragon Ball FighterZ Joins EVO 2018 Lineup
Arc System Works came out biggest victors even before EVO 2018 Championships kicks off. Following the final lineup announcement today, EVO 2018 will include two games from the developer; the recently released Dragon Ball FighterZ and yet to be released BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle which is scheduled to drop in May 2018. The biggest loser from all this must be Capcom as their highly promoted Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite failed to make the cut.
Tournament co-founder, Joey “MrWizard†Cuellar released the Evo 2018 lineup during a Twitch stream hosted by Mark “MarkMan†Julio earlier today. The confirmed lineup for this year are as follows:
While the inclusions of the likes of Street Fighter 5, Tekken 7 and Injustice 2 were expected, the omission of MvC was not; moreover being overlooked in favor of an unreleased title. With the newest BlazBlue game only releasing roughly three months prior to EVO 2018 taking place, this decision is definitely the clearest indication of how much MvC isn’t accepted by the fighting game community.
Evo 2018 will take place Aug. 3-5 in Las Vegas, Nevada, at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino.
