Overwatch League: Shanghai Dragons Part Ways With DPS Specialist
The Shanghai Dragons today confirmed that they have parted ways with their DPS specialist, Fang “Undead†Chao. According to the team’s official Twitter account, Fang was released from his contract and the move received its approval from the Overwatch League.
Roster Change: Today Shanghai Dragons announce the release of Fang “Undead†Chao, with the approval of OWL office. Shanghai Dragons are grateful for the contributions “Undead†has made so far this season, and wish him all best in his future career.

Following their abysmal 0-20 record at the end of Stage 2, the Shanghai Dragons were one of the more active teams heading into the second half of the season (Stage 3) with the additions of several players including tank superstar and first ever female player in the OWL, Kim “Geguri” Se-yeon. Needless to say, the departure of Fang, who have been one of their standouts to date was indeed unprecedented. However, word in the grapevine was that Fang have been unhappy both on and off stage and have been plagued by issues relating to his personal relationships.
Regardless, we believe this move was the best for both parties and we wish Fang the best in everything he does post-Overwatch League.
Meanwhile, expect to see a new-look Shanghai Dragons as they kick-off their Stage 3 campaign against another struggling team, Dallas Fuel on April 5th 2018.
