Singapore To Host Giant Fan Artist Congregation Doujin Market This May

You don’t have to wait too long until this November’s Anime Festival Asia to get your anime/manga fanart fix. The event organizing folks at Neo Tokyo Project will be hosting a huge fan artist gathering called Doujin Market from May 5 to 6 in the halls of Suntec Convention Centre in Singapore.

Doujin Market (or Doujima) is meant to be a platform for artistic expression; this year’s version will have a bigger venue space, which equals more artists and art showcases. There will be 212 artist groups from 13 different countries all over the world from Japan to Canada, so Singaporean anime fans will be seeing a ton of original work derived from their favourite anime/manga/video game properties. That’s a lot of artists!

Other highlights include:

  • A 2-hour panel featuring veteran artist Stanley “Artgerm” Lau where he talks about building your fan base and also reviews your portfolio.
  • 10 different seminars over the weekend from industry folks like Wacom, Collateral Damage Studio, and 3d Media Sense.
  • Renowned InkInk artists like Rian Gonzales, Frany, and Muju Monster offering spot-on commissions and signing sessions.

You can find out more on Doujima’s official site. In the meantime, you can check out photos and artwork from last year’s Doujima below.
