Korean-based Detonator KR has been crowned the first ever champions of Overwatch Contenders Pacific after defeating Australian-based Blank Esports at the Blizzard Arena in Taipei yesterday. Easily two of the most dominant teams in the OWC Pacific region, both teams didn’t drop a single set en route to the Grand Final.

Their opponents, Blank Esports were equally impressive, also winning their group with a 5-0 record and defeating their quarter and semi final foes, Talon Esports and Hong Kong Attitude both 3-0.

The Grand Final was played on a best-of-seven ruleset which saw the Australians pull off a surprise early map win, dealing the Koreans their first ever map loss of the season by conquering Ilios 2-0. The Koreans hit back to tie the score with an overtime win on Numbani.
