Valkyria Chronicles 4 Has An English Release Date
Good news, fans of watercolour pastel turn-based-esque RPG titles set in an alternate World War II backdrop. Sega has announced the release date for the English version of Valkyria Chronicles 4: September 25. The game is slated for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
For our fans in the EU and UK, the Valkyria Chronicles 4 launch edition will come with a special sticker of everyone's favorite medic pup, Ragnarok! Pre-order today! pic.twitter.com/EgFE51NPGB

If you pre-order the game, you’ll get a controller skin featuring the game’s medic pup Ragnarok. He is totes adorable.
Last we checked, the Nintendo Switch version is a tad rough around the edges. A US Gamer report stated that compromises have been made for the game to run in handheld mode, including loss of details on soldiers and terrain. There are also small framerate dips that are noticeable, though not game-breaking. Which is basically on-par with most third party games running on Switch’s handheld mode.
If you’re familiar with Valkyria Chronicles back in the late 2000s, part 4 takes place in the same timeframe as the original but is now focused on a new cast who have to execute Operation Northern Cross. It involves taking over an imperial base and the cold weather up north, so do expect the snow to be a major factor in your missions. All I can add here is that it’s been too long since we’ve had a great Valkyria Chronicles experience on major platforms.
