Overwatch World Cup: Team USA Reveals Shock-Centric Roster
Team USA earlier today revealed their full 12-men roster for the upcoming Overwatch World Cup which sees five of their players coming from Overwatch League team, San Francisco Shock.
With Super, Danteh, Sinatraa, Sleepy and Moth all making the cut, we guess it is fair to say that the Shock has replaced the Outlaws as ‘Team America’.
Set to be coached by Dallas Fuel Head Coach Aaron “@Aero_OW” Atkins, Houston Outlaws’ Muma and Rawkus, LA Gladiators’ Hydration, LA Valiant’s Space , Envision Esports’ McGravy and Fusion University duo Zacharee and Elk  complete the young and energetic roster. Except for Rawkus and Sinatraa who were part of last year’s squad, every other players are first-timers at the Overwatch World Cup. The team will be managed by former Director of Player Personnel for the New York Excelsior, Scott “Bearhands†Tester.
Assuming that Team USA to go with the conventional 2-2-2 setup, we expect to see Muma and Space start as tanks, with Hydration locking in one of the two the DPS slots. Danteh and Sinatraa may be subbed in depending on the maps and we are still unsure with how Zacharee fits into the team. As for support, we fancy seeing Rawkus start with Moth playing deputy.
The United States start their Overwatch World Cup campaign this September when they play host to five other countries – Canada, Brazil, Austria, Switzerland and Norway – in Los Angeles. Along with team USA, these teams will battle it out for the two coveted spots in the knockout stages which will be played later this year at BlizzCon.
