Here’s Your First Look At Godzilla: King of the Monsters

Remember the last 20 minutes of Gareth Edwards’ 2014 Godzilla movie? Yeah, those were awesome times that almost saved the rest of the film. Seeing Godzilla kicking ass and firing his atomic breath is a sight to behold.

That iconic atomic fire-breathing bit is the first thing Warner Bros. & Legendary Pictures are revealing in this Entertainment Weekly exclusive.

Beautiful.

So what’s the actual movie about? Let’s break it down.

  • 5 years after the 2014 Godzilla movie, people are still talking about his monumental appearance. Of course, new monsters will be appearing like Godzilla series mainstays Rodan, Mothra, and my three-headed pal King Ghidorah.
  • The film stars Vera Farmiga, Kyle Chandler, and Millie Bobby Brown. Vera plays a scientist who works for the beast-hunting organization Monarch and Millie plays her daughter. The pair are captured by a mysterious organization who has plans for the aforementioned monsters. Most likely a battle royale.
  • The sequel is directed by Michael Dougherty, who helmed past films like Krampus and Trick’rTreat.
  • Michael said the film will have ties to the 2020 Godzilla vs. King Kong. “It’s not like we’re bending over backwards to introduce Kong,” he said, “but there’s definitely some bread crumbs.”

In any case, we will hear more news and maybe even get a trailer for the film next week at San Diego Comic Con 2018. Godzilla: King of the Monsters will be out 31st May 2019.
