Overwatch League: San Francisco Shock Release Three Players
The San Francisco Shock earlier today announced that they have parted ways with three players; Hitscan specialist André ‘iddqd‘ Dahlström, Rein main David ‘nomy‘ Ramirez and Lucio specialist, Daniel ‘dhaK‘ MartÃnez.
Today we say goodbye to three amazing players and friends, @Nomy @daitchaK @iddqd, who made history with us this year in the @overwatchleague.
We can’t thank them enough for everything they have done for us and wish them the best in their future endeavors.#ForeverFamily pic.twitter.com/KcGfemll1T

They did not elaborate on the main reason behind the decision but it is safe to assume that in bid to improve their team’s fortunes in Season 2 of the Overwatch League, a team overhaul is due and it starts by removing players deemed surplus to requirements, or not up to par to the team’s expectations.
Responding to the decision Dhak took on to Twitter to voice his own take on it. Summing up his season as ‘memorable but disappointing’, Dhak who mains Lucio attributed his inability to fully transition to Mercy and Zen who became meta heroes at the start of Season 1 as one of the main factors to him being unable to perform at the highest level. Subsequently relegated to the subs bench following the Shock’s acquisition of Moth, Dhak also lamented his missed opportunity of playing with Sintaraa on stage. Going forward, he aims to remain in the Overwatch League and believes he’s got all the tools to be a valuable member to any top-tier team out there.
