At least he has another opportunity to grow a beard.
Henry Cavill can now add “genetically-enhanced sterile monster slayer for hire” in his acting roles because he’ll be the lead character in the upcoming The Witcher Netflix TV series.
According to a recent Instagram post from Henry Cavill, he will be playing Geralt of Rivia.
The first season of this upcoming show will be eight episodes long according to a Coming Soon post (not a porn site, we swear! Although that’s something Geralt would say when he’s with Trish or Yennefer in private)
The series’ showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich said that the casting for the lead is spot-on.
He was my first meeting. I didn’t have writers or scripts yet – just a greenlight and a lot of passion. That was four months ago, and I’ve never forgotten the passion he brought. [Henry Cavill] IS Geralt. He always has been.
It’s also a bonus that Cavill is a huge fan of the series; at least that’s what he’s saying in public. He expressed his love for Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt to the point where he posts fan mockups of himself looking like Geralt, photoshopped beard and all. And it looks better than the Justice League post-production work on Cavill’s moustache.

Had to repost these gems. All of them are from Bosslogic's account who has such a keen eye and talent for this kind of stuff. There is a capture of emotion and tone skill set there that I haven't seen often. So, very nicely done mate! Also, it's pretty cool to see what I would look like as Super Mario, Solid Snake and Geralt!! @Bosslogic #Superman #SuperMario #Geralt #SolidSnake #TheWitcher
We can’t wait to see who gets casted as Trish, Yennefer, and a whole slew of other women Geralt will bang in his quest. Here’s to more stellar casting down the line.
