First, some context before the nitty gritty: the Oculus Quest VR headset was recently announced.
- The device will cost you US$400.
- It comes with 2 of the Oculus Rift’s touch controllers, full six degrees of freedom, and doesn’t need an external PC or console to provide graphics since it’s a standalone device.
- It’s also compatible with all previous Oculus-supported software, so you’ll have a bunch of games to go VR in.
- The VR device will be out Spring 2019.
And now for the meat of the story: there’s an upcoming Star Wars game coming out where you get to be an indentured Padawan-in-training to everybody’s favourite bad guy Darth Vader. The game, which will be the first of many in a Star Wars VR series line, will be out Spring 2018.
