Ghosts, Landlords, & Re-Releases Oh My: The Latest Nintendo Direct Delivers
By Jonathan ToyadVerified|September 14, 2018|0 Comment
The delayed Nintendo Direct has finally been shown a few hours ago, and boy there’s a lot to take in. We have new games, we have old games bundled up into re-releases, and we have news concerning the Nintendo Online service.
Here are the highlights:
Scaredy cat Luigi apparently isn’t dead and instead alive and well. He’ll be busting ghosts in a mansion for the Nintendo Switch in 2019. So far, all we have is a trailer of him, well, exterminating the dead. What more do you need?
The fifth best Mario game in the world is getting a rerelease on the Nintendo Switch. This version of the game will pack in both the original Wii U release together with the New Super Luigi Bros. U expansion so you can play all the levels and courses you missed out. You may be one of the 80% of the gaming populace who missed out on the Wii U.
You also get to use new characters like Nabbit and Toadette, who transforms into Peachette if she acquires a mushroom. New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe is slated for an 11th January 2019 release.
Get ready to brawl, retro gaming fans. Capcom Beat ‘Em Up Bundle is announced and will re-release the following classic titles in one package:
Sadly, there’s no Aliens vs Predator in this bundle due to possible licensing issues. Still, this collection is pretty sweet since it also features a gallery mode containing all of these game’s concept artworks and promo materials. Out 18th September for the Switch (as well as for PS4, PC, and Xbox One)
Do you like rolling random stuff up to form stars for your buffoon of a dad who happens to be the King of the Cosmos? You’ve come to the right acid trip with this port of the 2004 PlayStation 2 classic. It’s not a new game exclusively for the Switch, but it’s been eons since he played any sort of legit Katamari Damacy game. Expect this game to, ahem, roll right in later this 7th December for the Switch as well as the PC.
These awesome controllers will cost you US$60 and are exclusive to people with paid Nintendo online accounts. Talk about a crazy paywall.
Final Fantasy VII, World of Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age, Final Fantasy IX, Final Fantasy X, Final Fantasy X-2: all of them will be on Nintendo’s new platform in 2019.
For you Animal Crossing fans out there in Southeast Asia, two things:
