Gone but not forgotten.
It’s sad to see an influential-yet-controversial figure like Totalbiscuit pass away due to cancer. Yeah, cancer sucks balls. But the next bit of news doesn’t.
John “TotalBiscuit” Bain will be inducted into the Esports Hall of Fame during ESL One Hamburg 2018 at the end of October. His achievements for this induction include:
- managing, sponsoring, commentating, and producing content for esports games such as StarCraft 2 and Dota 2.
- forming a StarCraft 2 team called Axiom.
- being a huge influence in the gaming community, especially the YouTube and podcasting space.
This is great and all seeing as he helped influenced a number of rising YouTube stars and their methodology, but this also means that other esports personalities also have a chance to be inducted somehow if they’re not in the competitive side of things.
Off the top of my head, folks like Markman 23, Tom Cannon, and the EVO crew can earn that same accolade in the fighting game space in the near future. The possibilities are endless; you can thank ESL for this.
