If there’s anyone doubting the popularity of Valve’s Steam store and platform -and really are there such people out there?- then the following info should put their vocal outbursts to rest.
During a Steam platform-related presentation at Melbourne Games Week, Valve employees/data scientists Kristian Miller and Sean Jenkins revealed the following numbers as of this year:
- 47 million daily active users
- 90 million monthly active users
- 18.5 million peak concurrent users
- 1.6 million new purchasers per month
This is definitely good news for Valve. For comparison, Steam peaked to 8.4 million users back in 2015. The platform saw 33 million daily active users and 67 million monthly active players 14 months ago.
