EA Teases Command & Conquer Remasters
By Jonathan ToyadVerified|October 12, 2018|0 Comment
Anyone here hyped up for the mobile Command & Conquer: Rivals game? Yeah, me neither. Insert your own brand of EA hate hashtag here.
That’s ok, because there’s a good chance we might get a bunch of EA-approved Command & Conquer remasters of Tiberium Wars, Red Alert 3, and Tiberian Twilight. According to a recent Reddit post from Electronic Arts producer Jim Vessella, EA knows that fans want to see the series make a proper PC master race-laced return and are working hard to make it happen.
The “PC master race” bit is hyperbole, but the rest of the statement is real.
Following the reveal of Rivals, we heard you loud and clear: the Command & Conquer community also wants to see the franchise return to PC. And as a fan of C&C for over 20 years, I couldn’t agree more.
With that in mind we’ve been exploring some exciting ideas regarding remastering the classic PC games, and already have the ball rolling on our first effort to celebrate the upcoming 25th Year Anniversary.
Nothing specific is set in stone yet, but EA will be talking to fans in a variety of ways over the next few weeks and will ask for feedback via the C&C Reddit subthread. The fact that Vessella is going on record on Reddit means that EA has something in store for the next few years. Probably two years, since the 25th anniversary they stated is but a couple years away.
To celebrate this ray of hope for us old-school C&C fans, here are my choice tracks from legendary C&C composer Frank Klepacki.
