Boba Fett Voice Actor Reveals Why Disney Canceled Star Wars The Clone Wars

It was devastating when Star Wars The Clone Wars was initially canceled back in 2013, more so when we were never given an official reason why by either Lucasfilm or Disney. Now thanks to former Boba Fett voice actor Daniel Logan, we have a clearer picture of why it was prematurely canceled after Season 6.

Speaking with ComicBook.com at London Comic Con recently, Logan said that Disney canceled Star Wars The Clone Wars because it was getting “too graphic” for the House of Mouse’s liking.

“Disney, they canceled it, I think it was getting a little too graphic — actually, it was getting really graphic,” he said. “Boba was doing some really, really cool stuff. He started actually becoming a bounty hunter.”

That actually sounds awesome. That also explains why fan-favorite Boba Fett was never really featured much in the Clone Wars animated series. This is probably because the show took place chronologically between the events of Episode II: Attack of the Clones and Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, which means that it’s only been a few years since Jango Fett’s death.

“We’d actually recorded seven episodes that didn’t get aired. I don’t cry, but I started tearing up when I saw some of these episodes and what I was doing,” he added. “So we actually recorded them… yeah, that’s all that’s left. They might come back, you never know.”

One of those seven episodes would have pitted a younger unexperienced Boba Fett against Cad Bane, who was then one of the best bounty hunters in the galaxy. It’s sad that fans missed what would have been an epic showdown and the beginning of Boba Fett’s journey to becoming Sarlacc dinner.

Here’s hoping some of these untold stories will be carried over into the upcoming Star Wars The Clone Wars Season 7 revival. Disney is also currently producing a live-action series titled The Mandalorian, starring a lone Mandalorian warrior in the fringes of the galaxy and set between Episode VI: Return of the Jedi and Episode VII: The Force Awakens. In the meantime, re-watch the initial Comic-Con trailer below.
