Dragalia Lost Guide: How To Train Your Dragon (Form)
By KakuchopureiVerified|November 5, 2018|0 Comment
This adventurer guide will be updated on a monthly basis.
Just a heads up: most 5-Star adventurers in a gacha game are already top tier in a general sense. Dragalia Lost follows the pratfalls of such F2P titles: every new 5-Star character that comes out is sure to make previous 5-Star characters obsolete.
If you have one -and you will; this game is surprisingly generous- just add him/her to your party depending on your party preference. If you lucked out with healer powerhouse Hildegarde, build a team with melee dudes, defenders, and ranged attack adventurers.
The real skill you need to learn is getting the most out of your 3-Star and 4-Star adventurers, both of whom can be promoted to 5-star status with patience and diligence. On the off chance you’re not going to spend money, you have to think like an F2P player. Given that your luck may be terrible, ask yourself: which “low tier” character should I keep and level up so that I can plough through the game regardless of tiers?
Before we get to the 5-Star Adventurers worth our time and hard-earned Wyrmite, here are our recommended picks for the best 3 and 4-Star adventurers.
Xania: This red-themed witch has pretty good damage output for a 3-Star character. As a wand user, her skills charge pretty darn quick and have good AoE damage. You’ll want to keep her because of her Skill Damage ability boost.
Melody: Her stats are garbage, but her Support Skills are great since they boost the team’s strength. She also has a boosted Critical Rate ability but she needs to be in full health for this to happen. Do create a party around her if your gacha luck is lacking.
Aoi (above): You know how some bosses hit harder due to their Overdrive mode? Aoi’s great in dealing with that since she has Overdrive Punisher. Not many adventurers have that ability, so keep her if you get her. While her stats are lacking, she at least has decent offensive skills and AoE attacks.
Ricardt: The fact that he has two great healing skills means that he’s a shoe-in to replace Cleo as your default healer.
Linus: He has decent skills and abilities that make him a decent defender. Gotta dig those defense buffs and “taunt” skills.
Althemia (below): Protip – Althemia’s a ranged attacker, which means that her Full HP=Skill Damage buff syncs with her playstyle. Her AoE damage is solid too.
Rodrigo: His HP 70% = Strength 8% buff means that he can take a little bit of damage while enjoying the benefits of hitting hard. Team him up with a healer to make the most out of his ability.
Edward: He’s both a defender and healer since he has shield and healing skills. A rarity in Dragalia Lost, FYI.
Zace: Two words – Skill Damage +20%. Find some way to gain Skill meter quick (via Wyrmprint) and you should be fine with this 3-Star Dark adventurer.
Halloween Edward: Has a number of strong offensive skills, assuming you can keep his health to 100%. Nightmare Waltz lets him gain some health via damage.
Halloween Althemia: This version of Althemia is a jack-of-all-trades character. Good healing, good offense, immunity to Curse, and Skill Prep. A great 3-Star adventurer to have.
Your Starting Guy: Euden (or whatever the hell you choose to call him) is your base Fire melee guy. Building a team around him is a good way to get through most of what this game offers.
Cleo: Your base healer who fights with Dark elemental. She’s cool if you don’t have decent healers around you. Once you get someone akin to Hildegarde or even the 3-star Ricardt, you can ditch her.
The Free Adventurers From Recent/Current Events:Â Celliera (above), Melsa, and whoever comes next in the next month or so. You can snag free adventurers by maxing their respective Friendship points.
Celliera the hardass trainer anime archetype has good AoE and can power up her AoE special skill consecutively. Melsa the Sylvan with a French accent is super-fast and has decent AoEs.
While these adventurers are meant to maintain Dragalia Lost’s retention rate (mobile game marketing speak), you stand to benefit from these since these characters aren’t too shabby.
Kleimann: He’s a Force Strike god. His abilities amp up his skills and Force Strike, meaning that he can be your main damage dealer in your party.
Eleonora: She has poison kits and Skill Haste. And she’s a pretty good archer. And her storyline’s adorable somewhat. What’s not to love?
Ryozen: This old man, he blocks hard. He has a built-in doublebuff that allows himto soak up damage well. You should make him a priority tank in your team.
Amane (above): She’s a great offence-based sorcerer who can self-sustain and heal the party when needed. Two-in-one package, basically.
Orion: He has a blind toolkit and a few abilities that take advantage of the status effect. With his AoE damage being the best among 4-Star guys, he’s a keeper.
Karina (above): Arr…matey. This pirate lass is a darn good high-tier defender. She can stack damage with her current buffs and can survive with her blend of doublebuffs.
Orsem: Skater boy here hits fast, hard, and has combos. Since his kit is built around critical damage, that’s a must. Flurry Edge is his best move.
Like we said before, all 5-Star adventurers are great and you should build your team around your 5-Star guys and gals with the above 3/4-star folks. With that said, here are the ones who stand out among the Kakuchopurei team.
Hildegarde: Healing is essential in the instance-based levels of Dragalia Lost. Having one who can hit hard is pretty important. While Cleo is cool and all, Hildegarde’s passive can boost healing potency for all party members.
Nefaria: While her Blind-afflicting Twilight Arrows help, it’s her Skill Haste buff that makes everyone’s skill gauge charge faster than usual. Protip: her Twilight Arrows “super” can auto-target the closest threat, so you don’t need to fuss about manually targeting and dragging on your touchscreen.
Ezelith: Want a spellcaster who can lower defense stats for your melee guys to take advantage of? Then gacha Ezelith! Her damage output and her fast attacks (she’s a Dagger user) can break enemies and deal more hits.
Slutty Pumpkin Halloween Elisanne: Not only can she buff her teammates health by 8% and has good reach, she can also overwhelm opponents with her Sacred Maiden and Mischief Maker moves.
Keep in mind that a fourth Sacred Maiden will cancel out all buffs from previous Sacred Maiden skills, so don’t spam that skill unnecessarily. Go nuts with Mischief Maker though.
