So much for new guest characters in the Soulcalibur 6 Season Pass. Turns out that some scrupulous data miners dug up some insightful news in the game’s Version 1.10 patch which heralded the coming of NieR Automata‘s 2B.
They found the names “Cassandra” and “Amy” with “DLC2” and “DLC3” labels next to them. For those not familiar with Soulcalibur 6 lore (seriously, it’s all in the game’s single-player modes) Cassandra is Sophitia’s younger sister who fights just like her but with a few
assjustments, I mean adjustments of her own.
Amy is a little kid who usually tags along with Raphael in the game’s story. In Soulcalibur III onwards, she fights just like Raphael but with some distinct differences. She’s a favourite among tournament users back in the day.
Take this news with a grain of salt since it’s just speculation, but just remember: this same kind of leak and datamining happened to Dragon Ball FighterZ and all those predictions came true. Perhaps Bandai Namco need to start changing their data-naming conventions if they don’t want prying eyes from being too curious with their code.
But hey, I’m happy to be playing as either one of them if they’re anything like their Soulcalibur IV counterparts. What say you, dear readers?
If you can’t get enough Soulcalibur 6, check our guide in a few days’ time. We’ll be updating it with some more info because lord knows it needs some spring-cleaning.
