RIP Super Dave/Curb Your Enthusiasm Actor Bob Einstein
By Jonathan ToyadVerified|January 3, 2019|0 Comment
2019 has claimed its first major entertainment victim: veteran comedian & comedy writer Bob Einstein. He was 76 years old.
The news was made official by his brother Albert Brooks on Twitter, adding that he was a “great brother, father and husband”, a “brilliantly funny man” who would “be missed forever”.
R.I.P. My dear brother Bob Einstein. A great brother, father and husband. A brilliantly funny man. You will be missed forever.

While most 80s pop culture nuts like myself recognize him as “death-defying stuntman” Super Dave Osborne, he is most recently known as both Marty Funkhouser from Curb Your Enthusiasm and Larry Middleman in Arrested Development. His co-star from the former, Larry David, said in a statement:
“Never have I seen an actor enjoy a role the way Bob did playing Marty Funkhouser on Curb. It was an amazing, unforgettable experience knowing and working with him. There was no-one like him, as he told us again and again. We’re all in a state of shock.”
Co-stars and friends of Bob tweeted the following to express their sympathies.
We lost a friend today. ?? thanks for all of the laughs on Curb Your Enthusiasm. Our love to Bob’s family. #BobEinstein #SuperDave. The comedy world will miss you. pic.twitter.com/aLIjq8LoVP

I’m in shock.
I knew him forever. ??to his loved ones. His long career is hard to match. His role on #curbyourenthusiasm was excruciatingly brilliant! Our cast and crew will be devastated.
He was so loved. He told me how much he loved LD and Curb. RIP buddy. ?@HBO? pic.twitter.com/G8f5PoffuF— Richard Lewis (@TheRichardLewis) January 2, 2019

You will be missed, Super Dave. Here are my personal favourite skits from the late-but-great “stuntman”.
