By Alleef Ashaari|January 15, 2019|1 Comment
The Uncharted movie has received a new director, again. This time Sony has officially replaced Shawn Levy with 10 Cloverfield Lane director Dan Trachtenberg. Not only that, but the long-gestating movie adaptation based on the iconic Naughty Dog game franchise will also be getting a new script by Jonathan Rosenberg and Mark Walker.

The upcoming Uncharted movie is set to star Tom Holland in its titular role of a young Nathan Drak, telling the story of how he first met future partner-in-crime (and surrogate father of sorts) Victor ‘Sully’ Sullivan. Fans are losing hope that it will ever see the light of day, but production is expected to begin sometime this year.
In the meantime, at least we have Nathan Fillion’s Uncharted fan film to tide us by. Running at a little under 15 minutes, this Uncharted live-action short starred Fillion as Nathan Drake and Stephen Lang as Sully. It has been well-received by fans, with almost 5 million views to date. Rewatch it below.

The brilliance of Dan Trachtenberg as a director and Tom Holland as an actor is undeniable. However, something tells me that Nathan Drake isn’t a character for Tom Holland. Yeah. They’re both athletic I guess but I just find it weird for Tom to play as Nathan Drake. I think Chris Pine might nail it as Nathan Drake.
