Disney Releases Frozen 2 Trailer To Make Us Forget About Aladdin 2019

So, we’re getting a Frozen 2 this November. Cool.

Here’s the lowdown:

  • It’ll be directed by Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee. Makes sense since they did the first film.
  • The film’s synopsis is as follows: Elsa, Anna, Kristoff and Olaf are going far in the forest to know the truth about an ancient mystery of their kingdom.
  • Also, Elsa tries to cross the sea with her ice powers. This is a Disney film, so she’ll succeed to a degree in the final film.
  • We also have an army of reindeers led by Kristoff and Sven. Looking good so far.

While I’m all for a Frozen sequel -the first film is overhyped to kingdom come but it’s still a darn good animated film- I do worry that 2019 is the year Disney is oversaturating and possibly cannibalizing themselves with family-friendly and superhero films. This year we have Aladdin (live action), Dumbo (live action), The Lion King (live action), and Toy Story 4. From Marvel’s side, we have Captain Marvel, Avengers: Endgame, and Spider-Man: Far From Home.

And then there’s the ninth mothership Star Wars movie which may placate fans for the “travesty” that is Star Wars VIII: The Last Jedi. So what’s next for Disney in 2020? Because it looks like the House of Mouse might be all tapped out.
