Nintendo’s Reggie Fils-Aimé To Retire In April; Bowser To Take Over
Nintendo’s most recognizable figurehead is retiring in April. We are referring to the company’s American president Reggie Fils-Aimé.
The Nintendo Twitter post that broke the news showed off the man’s highlights from 2005 all the way to now. His sign-off was in typical Reggie fashion; filled with Nintendo memes, puns, and references to his quotes.
Nintendo fans, Reggie has a message for all of you. Please take a look. pic.twitter.com/EAhaEl5oEJ

He will be handing over the reins (or controller) to Doug Bowser. Yes, everyone is aware of the guy’s last name and the fact that he’s the new Nintendo of America president. That joke got old the moment the news broke.
Here’s a quote from Reggie’s farewell video to show that he cherished the time he was running the American division.
“For giving me a Mushroom Kingdom full of incredible memories that I will never forget. I’ve been honoured to be included as part of your family. Just as you understand that Nintendo always tries to put smiles on faces… well, you put thousands of smiles on mine.”
The internet was, of course, emotional about his retirement. We’ll end this segment with these messages. Stay tuned for our favourite Reggie Fils-Aimé moments; it’s coming.
And we’ve added our favourite Reggie moments below as well:
This will always be true. We'll miss you, Reggie. https://t.co/N2zBwQDQlY

Something it feels like we never talked about often was the fact that Reggie Fils-Aime was a rare black man leading a major gaming company. This came up briefly in an interview last year, when Walker was asking companies about how they handle crunch. https://t.co/bdSLhfio5N pic.twitter.com/7DbCWFqfdk

I think it goes to show what a banner career Reggie had with all these trending topics from different moments. Looks like the latest one is taking its place there too! pic.twitter.com/uGDIg3L2xK
