Respawn’s Doing A New Titanfall Game; Also Apex Legend Is Doing Fine & Dandy
By Jonathan ToyadVerified|February 7, 2019|0 Comment
It’s a good day to be Vince Zampella; his company’s new game Apex Legend is doing great. It’s attracted 2.5 million unique users and 600,000 concurrent users at its peak in the past 24 hours since its release. Those numbers might grow since Respawn Entertainment and EA just revealed that there’s a new Titanfall game in the works.
Tons of things planned for @PlayApex in the future. We are also committed to listening to player feedback.
We are also working on more Titanfall for later in the year (yes, I said the T word). We love being able to experiment in this crazy universe!

Yeah, that pilot/mecha hybrid shooter series is still Respawn’s baby, so think of Apex Legend as a precursor to tide Titanfall fans over before their next entry comes out later this year. EA head honcho/fistbump in human form Andrew Wilson said Apex Legend is “very early, but the response to the game has been very, very strong. We’ve been the number one views game on Twitch since launch and player sentiment seems to be very, very high right now.”
“We expect that many, many tens, maybe at some point hundreds and millions of people will look play this game. It was important for them to think it through, [and] they are completely proud of where they got to.” Fistbump said the “premium game” will be a “truly creative take on what Titanfall is in a premium context.”
At least we know EA isn’t giving up on Titanfall yet despite them bungling up the release of Titanfall 2. Yes, releasing a critically-acclaimed shooter with other similar and bigger-named multiplayer shooters within the same seasonal window is still a dumb move that EA may have done on purpose for god-knows-what reason.
