These Final Fantasy XIV Mardi Gras Floats Are Moogle-Tastic
Australia seems to have all the fun when it comes to putting up floats of JRPG beasties for a public festival.
To celebrate the coming together of the Sydney Gaymer community, the group collaborated with Square Enix to create the first-ever Final Fantasy XIV Online floats for the Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade during 2 March. 80 members marched with the FFXIV-themed float under the “Realms United” banner.
The Moogle, Cactuar, and Cherry Bomb made their debut during the 2019 Parade Night, and they look like they’re having the time of their lives being put out on display.
Here’s a closing statement from organizer Peak Distapan:
This collaboration could never have been realised without the efforts of our community. When FFXIV took part in PAX Australia, it was the FFXIV players in Australia who offered us the greatest welcome and utmost support. This led on to our community and Sydney Gaymers working together to make the collaboration a reality.
To see it makes me very happy indeed, both as the person in charge of FFXIV and also as just another player of the game. FFXIV is another world that continues to grow and expand online. In that world people become adventurers, known as the Warriors of Light, and can continue to be free. I would like to continue developing this world, hand in hand with communities across the globe.
In related news, FFXIV will be getting a new expansion called Shadowbringers. It’ll be out 2 July for PC and PS4.
