Imagine spending almost every day for a whole year on the set of the HBO TV series global phenomenon Game of Thrones, right there in the middle of the making of the series’ historic final season.
Well, that’s what British filmmaker Jeanie Finlay was lucky enough to do, and the results will be a behind the scenes documentary titled, Game of Thrones: The Last Watch. The upcoming documentary will chronicle all the blood, mud and sweat the went into the gargantuan production of Game of Thrones Season 8.
Viewers can look forward to seeing how the studios, fields, and car-parks of Northern Ireland were transformed into the land of Westeros in Game of Thrones. Fans should consider it a final farewell to the series, which initially began way back in 2011.
Game of Thrones: The Last Watch is slated to debut in Asia at the same time as the U.S. at 9am on Monday, 27 May 2019, one week after the series finale, exclusively on HBO (Astro Ch 411 / 431 HD). It will also be available as a same-day encore at 10pm, as well as be available on HBO On Demand via Astro GO.
