Overwatch League Just Lost Its Most Popular Player

It’s a sad day for Overwatch League fans as Atlanta Reign announced the retirement of their superstar player, Daniel ‘Dafran’ Francesca via tweet earlier today.

Having led the team to the playoffs in their first ever season in the OWL, Dafran’s departure was definitely a surprise since he’s been one key element in making the league much more enjoyable to watch. Who else could bring the house down simply by popping off on Torbjorn? Only Dafran, my dudes.

While we won’t be seeing Dafran popping off on stage from Stage 2 onwards, his presence with the Reign will still be felt as he changed roles within the organization, now as part of their stream team.

Still, a nett loss.

In memory of Dafran’s time as an active roster member for the Atlanta Reign, and possibly a teaser of what’s to come in the near future, here’s a clip of his dance streams.
