Catch The Master Thief In The New Google Earth Carmen Sandiego Game
By Alleef Ashaari|March 14, 2019|0 Comment
There’s a game you can play on Google Earth (yes, you read that right), and it features none other than the globe-trotting master thief herself, Carmen Sandiego. Some might not realize (even those who grew up with the iconic 90s animated series) that the franchise actually started as educational edutainment game in the 80s.
According to a recent Google blog post, The Crown Jewels Caper is the first in a planned series of Google Earth Carmen Sandiego games, and it plays almost exactly like the original 1985 PC game, Where On Earth Is Carmen Sandiego? In the game, players assume the role of an ACME agent who has to track down Carmen Sandiego across the world and recover the crown jewels.
What players do in the game is basically visit real locations around the globe using Google Earth tech, visiting landmarks and learning about these places. Along the way, they must find and interview witnesses to determine the whereabouts of Carmen Sandiego.
Geographical and travel buffs will love this game, as they will get to apply their knowledge in this game. While the game doesn’t feature any sound or audio whatsoever, the charming pixel art more than makes up for it.
The game is now available on Google Chrome, Android and iOS. To start playing, look for the special edition of the yellow stick figure Pegman icon on Google Earth, or just head on over to this link here.
In the meantime, check out the trailer below.
