PUBG Mobile Banned in India, 16 Arrested
By Syazwan Bahri|March 15, 2019|3 Comments
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Mobile, aka PUBG Mobile, has been banned in India following concerns of addiction and promotion of violence amongst youngsters. At least 16 students were arrested for simply playing the game.
The Indian Express reports that 10 university students were arrested for playing PUBG Mobile a week after the ban was enforced in the state of Gujarat. The unfortunate students were released on bail.
A police officer was reported saying that “This game is highly addictive and the accused were so engrossed in playing them that they could not even notice our team approaching themâ€.
The ban came in the concern about how the game affects players’ “behaviour, conduct, and language.†The game is still legal in other Indian states, however.
Weirdly, considering the crime of dance Fortnite, as well as its prevalence among the kids, I’m surprised it has come through unscathed, even though it is also a shooter battle royale.
But seriously though, you people need to understand that games do not make you violent. Lag does.
