It’s been almost two months since the debut of The Umbrella Academy‘s first season on Netflix, and fans have been clamoring for renewal ever since. The Hargreeves family must be dancing right now because Netflix has officially confirmed the renewal of The Umbrella Academy for a second season.

Cast members confirmed to reprise their roles for The Umbrella Academy Season 2 include:

  • Ellen Page – Vanya/Number Seven
  • Tom Hopper – Luther/Number One
  • David Castañeda – Diego/Number Two
  • Emmy Raver-Lampman – Allison/Number Three
  • Robert Sheehan – Klaus/Number Four
  • Aidan Gallagher – Number Five
  • Justin Min – Ben/Number Six

Fans will also be glad to learn that The Umbrella Academy Season 1 showrunner Steve Blackman will be returning for the second season, as well as series creators (and co-executive producers) Gerard Way and Gabriel Ba. The Umbrella Academy Season 2 will feature 10 episodes just like the first season, with production set to begin this summer in Toronto, Canada.

The Umbrella Academy was a success due to its meta nature and exploration of dysfunctional family themes, as well as offering a unique take on the superhero genre. While we haven’t received a premiere date for season 2, here’s what you can probably expect from The Umbrella Academy next season, based on what’s already happened in the source material.
