Harvest Moon Makers Natsume Opens Up Indie Program
Nothing like a longtime publisher/developer to help grow the indie scene with its franchise money, eh? Natsume, the folks behind Asia’s favourite farming series Harvest Moon, is opening up the Natsume Indie Program.
This new indie program will help independent developers to market and publish their games to a wider audience. The first game to test out whether Natsume has these kinds of chops? Cosmic Defenders by Tokyo-based studio Fiery Squirrel.
The game is a cute little 2D shooter who use the power of nature to stop chaotic aliens from taking over the world. The game emphasizes co-op play and it’s going to be out for Nintendo Switch in 2019.
Let’s hope this isn’t a one-off thing; publishers like Natsume have a lot of connections to help these little underfunded indie folks to reach more people.
