Gotham’s Joker Is Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order’s New Hero
By Alleef Ashaari|April 14, 2019|2 Comments
EA and Respawn Entertainment have finally released the first trailer for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, as well as revealed several details and the official release for the highly-anticipated game.
As revealed during the Star Wars Celebration panel for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, the game follows Jedi Padawan Cal Kestis, who is now one of the last surviving members of the Jedi Order after the Great Jedi Purge of Order 66 in the aftermath of the events in Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.

Cal Kestis is played by none other than actor Cameron Monaghan, best known for playing DC Comics TV series Gotham‘s version of the Joker. His performance utilizes motion-capture technology so Cal essentially exhibits an extreme likeness to Monaghan. Take a look at a behind the scenes images of the actor in action.
According to Monaghan, this character standing beside Cal Kestis will actually be Cal’s mentor in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, not to mention that she’s a former Jedi Knight herself. However, he added that their relationship won’t be like that of a traditional one between a Padawan and a Master, but it’ll be closer to a “strange family” tie instead.
One of the main antagonists in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will be the Second Sister, a member of a group called the Inquisitors (or Inquisitorius) whose job is to kill any living and remaining Jedi. They were first introduced in the animated series Star Wars Rebels, but the Second Sister first appeared in a comic book, Darth Vader: Dark Lord of the Sith Issue 19: Fortress Vader, Part I.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will introduce a new variant of Stormtroopers into the franchise canon, Purge Troopers. It was revealed in the panel that these Purge Troopers were called in by the Empire to investigate Jedi sightings. Only after they’ve confirmed the sighting will they call upon the Inquisitors to finish the job.
A Star Wars entry (be it a movie, game, or series) will never be complete without the introduction of a new droid companion, and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is no exception. BD-1 is his name, and you can also catch him at Cal’s side in the trailer.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is set to introduce more new planets and characters into the franchise, as well as feature gameplay that the developer describes as “thoughtful combat”. Combat will be easy to pick up but hard to master, as players need to exploit the weaknesses of their enemies to prevail.
According to the developers, that’s not Cal’s lightsaber. It’s tied with the game’s story, so it remains a mystery for now. However, we do know that players will be able to customize their lightsabers and probably not just its appearance either, as it will “change and evolve” throughout the game.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is slated to release for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC on 15 November 2019, just a month before the release of Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker on 20 December 2019 (check out our breakdown of its first trailer here).

[…] The Switch will be the perfect console to play this game on, as it’s a fast-paced game. Load times are short, while a whole game wouldn’t take longer than 25 minutes. That version of the game might take a while to come out since Respawn already has their hands full with that Star Wars game. […]
