Team Liyab Wins Big At The Philippine Pro Gaming League 2019′
By Alleef AshaariVerified|April 12, 2019|0 Comment
Team Liyab, the official esports team of Globe Telecom and Mineski, recently won not one but two major championships at the Philippine Pro Gaming League 2019. The two events were for League of Legends and Arena of Valor.
Taking home a total of P400,000 in prizes, Team Liyab defeated many other teams in the process. The Liyab League of Legends team defeated Arkangel in the semifinals, before dominating over TNC in the finals and grabbing the PPGL 2019 Season 1 League of Legends championship title.
Meanwhile, the Liyab Arena of Valor team managed to overcome Resurgence during the semifinals and Kidlat Esports in the grand finals to clinch the championship title. Interestingly, this win coincided with the first anniversary of their regional championship Valor Cup Season 1 in 2018 where they won against top teams from Malaysia, Singapore, and the Philippines to become the region’s best team.
It doesn’t end there, as Team Liyab is also looking to dominate upcoming Hearthstone tournaments as well. Team Liyab’s Cara Cute is set to participate in the Asia-Pacific Hearthstone Nationals Qualifier, aiming to claim one of the two coveted spots to represent the Philippines in the WCG Hearthstone leg on 21 April 2019.
In other related news, the Liyab League of Legends team is also set for a shot at representing the Philippines at the League Of Legends SEA Tour Finals in Vietnam later this month if they win in the upcoming League of Legends SEA National Minor. Read the full story here.
