The Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Southeast Asia Cup (MSC) 2019 is the region’s elite Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) tournament and it is heading to Manila.

Taking place at the SMART Araneta Coliseum, MSC 2019 is going to be the biggest and most exciting MLBB esports event to take place in the Philippines. Happening on the 19 to 23 June 2019, be sure not to miss it.

We’ll break down the format and how to watch the tournament below.

Teams

The MSC will feature 12 teams from 9 different countries such as the Philippines, Indonesia and Myanmar. Each country will each send two teams, with the exception of Malaysia and Singapore who will send in only one team each. Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia are hosting local qualifiers with the winning team from each country qualifying for the MSC.

To date, the confirmed teams invited to the tourney are Onic Esports and Louvre Esports from Indonesia, who happen to be 1st and 2nd place winners at MPL-ID Season 3 respectively.

For our representatives, our very own GeekFam is invited, as well as Singapore’s EVOS Esports SG. These two teams fought valiantly during MPL-MY/SG Season 3 and are the 1st and 2nd place winners at MPL-MY/SG Season 3 respectively.

Format

MSC 2019 starts off with the group stage draw on 4 June, where all teams will be drawn into four groups.

On 19 and 20 June, the group stage will take place to determine which teams get a spot in the upper bracket of the playoffs. The remaining teams will then face off in a play-in round to fight for the last four spots in the lower bracket of the playoffs.

Both the play-in round and playoffs will happen on the big stage from 21 to 23 June 2019 at SMART Araneta Coliseum.

Prize Pool

The teams will be up against each other to stand a chance to win from a prize pool of US$120,000 (RM 502,620). That’s a hefty prize pool!
