We Finally, FINALLY Have A Freakin’ Release Date For Kojima’s Death Stranding
By Alleef Ashaari|May 30, 2019|0 Comment
After so many years of uncertainty and mere speculation, Hideo Kojima and PlayStation have released the first full-length gameplay trailer for Death Stranding, which finally reveals the release date for one of the most highly-anticipated games this generation.
Mark your calendars, Death Stranding will be releasing exclusively for the PS4 on 8 November 2019.
Here is the official description for Death Stranding courtesy of Kojima himself:
“People have created “Walls” and become accustomed to living in isolation.
“DEATH STRANDING” is a completely new type of action game, where the goal of the player is to reconnect isolated cities and a fragmented society. It is created so that all elements, including the story and gameplay, are bound together by the theme of the “Strand” or connection.
As Sam Porter Bridges, you will attempt to bridge the divides in society, and in doing create new bonds or “Strands” with other players around the globe. Through your experience playing the game, I hope you’ll come to understand the true importance of forging connections with others.”

Running over eight minutes long, the Death Stranding trailer shows gameplay segments interspersed with cinematic sequences from the upcoming game. From the looks of it, Kojima’s next game seems to be a third-person open-world game similar to other PS4 exclusives like Days Gone and Horizon Zero Dawn, albeit with stealth elements and mechanics.
That’s totally expected, considering that stealth is a staple and signature of Kojima since his Metal Gear/Metal Gear Solid days at Konami.
Coinciding with the release of the trailer, Kojima himself posted several tweets, revealing the brand new images of characters featured in Death Stranding, as well as their names.
Various editions of Death Stranding are now available for pre-order starting from today on 30 May 2019. Check them out below:
It’s pretty much as expected if you were shown a bonkers premise set in an action game with some stealth mixed in.
