This Is How Fast The PlayStation 5 Is, According To This First Look
By Syazwan Bahri|May 21, 2019|4 Comments
Do you guys still remember what Sony’s Mark Cerny revealed a month ago about the upcoming PlayStation 5 storage? He said it will be a specialised storage kit with blazing fast loading speeds.
Well, we finally have our first look at how fast the new storage is. Prepared to be amazed by how obsolete our PS4 Pro consoles are!

For those who don’t have time to watch the video, or is just saving data, here’s the breakdown of what happened. Just like what Cerny showed to Wired a month ago, it is a load-time demo involving Marvel’s Spider-Man. The next generation console managed to load the world in under a second, while the PS4 Pro took 8.1 seconds to fully load the game.
The second part of the demo had the camera zoom past the city in an effort to show how fast it loads different areas. The PS4 Pro lagged a number of times while the next generation console had no problem zooming through the city.
Sony highlighted that the PlayStation 5 will be synonymous to words like “immersive” and “seamless” and will offer an “immersive experience created by dramatically increased graphics rendering speeds” while being seamless in terms of being able to play games anytime, anywhere.
Sony talked about how streaming will be a key player in the brand going forward. Sony confirms that the PlayStation 5 will be supporting Remote Play functionality. According to analyst Danial Ahmad on Twitter, PS4 Remote Play has 5.6 million active users.
Sony is also cooking something up with Microsoft, as they plan to develop “future cloud solutions in Microsoft Azure to support their respective game and content-streaming services”.
This is in line with what Sony plans for the PlayStation 5 business model in which streaming will be given its own limelight.
Sony isn’t attending E3 2019 next month so we won’t be expecting any PlayStation 5 announcements there. Thankfully, we already have some information on that end.
We have some clues on how much it will be priced, but it isn’t set in stone yet. However, we are certain that it won’t be released before April 2020.
