An announcement soon?
Today, there’s been a development in the story as Wall Street Journal reporter Takashi Mochizuki states in his report that Nintendo is now shifting production of the Switch to Southeast Asia from China to lower the impact of possible ‘U.S. tariffs on Chinese-made electronics’. This was confirmed to Mochizuki by people currently working on Nintendo’s supply chain.
Here’s a tweet from Mochizuki himself:
My latest: Nintendo is shifting part of Switch production from China amid U.S-China trade conflict. Not interested in subject? Then how about this: it has started production of new models, suggesting announcement is near.https://t.co/0Vus1pBVVh

This means that production of the new Switch models is already underway! How exciting is that?
Will it look like the current Nintendo Switch? Or will it have distinct changes to differentiate it from its standard cousin? Some say it will look like the Nintendo 3DS.
All we have to do is wait for an announcement from Nintendo, and we expect it to come soon.
