Previously, we’ve only heard some hearsay about Nintendo and their new Switch models. There was one ‘affordable, entry-level‘ model and a ‘high performance‘ model

Today, there’s been a development in the story as Wall Street Journal reporter Takashi Mochizuki states in his report that Nintendo is now shifting production of the Switch to Southeast Asia from China to lower the impact of possible ‘U.S. tariffs on Chinese-made electronics’. This was confirmed to Mochizuki by people currently working on Nintendo’s supply chain.

Here’s a tweet from Mochizuki himself:

This means that production of the new Switch models is already underway! How exciting is that?

Will it look like the current Nintendo Switch? Or will it have distinct changes to differentiate it from its standard cousin? Some say it will look like the Nintendo 3DS.

All we have to do is wait for an announcement from Nintendo, and we expect it to come soon.
