Monster Hunter World: Iceborne Adjusts Quest Difficulty For Smaller Hunt Parties

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne is a massive expansion coming to the base game in September, and with that comes some changes on hunt difficulty. Earlier this week, Iceborne producer Ryozo Tsujimoto announced that difficulty scaling for two players will be added after listening to community feedback.

Here’s why this happened: In Monster Hunter World, there are only two difficulties for hunts; ‘singleplayer’ and ‘multiplayer’. This means that hunts with more than one player will be automatically be scaled to four players, regardless of how many players are in a hunt. The new feature means two-man hunts are now manageable.

Iceborne will also introduce a difficulty rescaling function. If a player leaves a hunt midway for whatever reason such as disconnections, the game will dynamically scale down the difficulty to a more appropriate level depending on the number of current players.

Here’s another treat for players. Capcom also showed off the new base, Seliana as well as the new area, Hoarfrost Ridge. The monstrous fan-favourite, Tigrex, also returns and is featured in the video below.

Iceborne also brings new weapon attacks across the hunter arsenal. You can check out all the attacks on our page; the bladed weapons here, blunt weapons here, lances here, axes here and the agile weapons here.

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne will be released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One on 6 September while the PC via Steam version will arrive in Winter 2019.
