Lock And Load: Apex Legends’ Weapons Get An Upgrade In Season 2
By Syazwan Bahri|June 19, 2019|0 Comment
Season 2 is hot on our heels, coming just in a few weeks time, but Respawn’s Sean Slayback’ principal weapons designer, has already teased players with the weapon changes incoming in the next season. I have to tell you, it’s a doozy.
First off, we’re gonna kick off with the beastly L-STAR airdrop weapon. It’s a rare and powerful LMG with no ammo pickups, like the other airdrop weapons.
The L-STAR shoots unique projectiles that are larger than those fired by other weapons. Players must lead their shots to compensate the slower projectile but on the other hand, players don’t have to aim quite as precisely to get good effect on target.
Be careful when firing over extended periods as the weapon overheats. When the L-STAR overheats, its lens breaks and needs to be replaced, which takes some time. Feather the trigger for maximum efficiency.
Hot drops are getting more interesting as early game weapons, such as the Alternator and Mozambique are getting hop ups to increase situational viability.
In other words, the Mozambique is getting buffed. We still don’t know how much the hop ups increase damage, but it’s a welcomed change to the game.
The Havoc, Devotion, and Triple Take are now getting an extended mag slot. Like the other magazine attachments, Energy Mags increase ammo capacity (at all levels) and reduce reload time (at level 2 and above).
Some weapons are getting buffs so that they are more viable within their designed roles. The weapons are, but not limited to;
Specific changes will be elaborated in detail in the upcoming Season 2 patch notes.
The Arc Star throwable is getting tweaked. Here are the changes:
A new set of gold weapons will be available in Season 2. These will be revealed in the patch notes laters.
The ammo stacks in players’ backpack are getting some changes for balancing purposes. Only Shotgun ammo and Energy Ammo are tweaked;
The loot from airdrops is now more dynamic, meaning the drops change from each phase of the game. Players will find Krabers in the early phases, while Mastiffs will be more common in the end game.
The L-STAR LMG will also be included.
There will be more changes that all this coming, so stay tuned as we wait patiently (or not) for the patch notes coming later.
Apex Legends Season 2 will be starting on 2 July.
