Apex Legends Battle Charge: All You Need To Know About Wattson

Season 2 of Apex Legends is coming in two weeks time, and with Battle Charge, comes many new features and updates. The next season also introduces a new Legend to the roster. Her name is Wattson and she has an electrifying array of abilities.

What Can She Do?

Wattson Apex Legends

Wattson appears to be a Defence role Legend. Quite similar to Caustic, she lays arc traps while creating space for teammates to push or tactically deny an area, perfect to recover from tight odds.

Tactical Ability

Wattson Tactical

Perimeter Security - Connect nodes to create electrified fences that damage and slow enemies.

Ultimate Ability

Wattson ult

Interception Pylon - Place an electrified pylon that destroys incoming ordnance and repairs damaged shields as long as it stands. (Max: 3)

Passive Ability

Spark of Genius - Ultimate Accelerants fully charge your Ultimate Ability, and standing near interception pylons boosts your Tactical Ability recharge.

Her Backstory

Like we’ve previously covered during the Season 2 reveal at EA Play during E3, Respawn is now focusing on building lore and story for the Apex Legends’ world.

Wattson’s full name is Natalie Paquette, and it’s said that she knows the Arena better than the back of her hand. Her father died the day the Apex Games Arena was revealed and she plans to continue her father’s legacy.

The full lore can be read below.

Natalie “Wattson” Paquette is a familiar face in the Apex Games, though for a different reason than most. Daughter of the Games’ lead electrical engineer, she studied his manuals to stay close to him, and discovered her calling at a young age. Though she could be completely distracted one moment and hyper-focused the next, electricity grounded her – its ordered, predictable flow made sense in a way the rest of the world didn’t.

She devoured every book she could on the subject, and eventually became such a skilled engineer that she was commissioned to build the Apex Games’ Modified Containment Ring. Unfortunately, her father died the day it was revealed, leaving her alone. At her lowest moment, a group of competitors invited her to return to the arena with them, assuring her she would always have a home. She now fights alongside her friends in the arena she helped build, destroying incoming missiles, recharging shields, creating fences, and using her pylon to silence fights that get too loud. Nobody knows the arena better than Wattson – anyone who underestimates her is in for a shock.

When Is Season 2 Dropping?

Season 2 of Apex Legends, aptly named Battle Charge, will be live on 2 July and will introduce new weapons such as the L-STAR EMG, new loot, some weapon changes, a new mode and something big.
