Pokémon Go Devs’ Harry Potter Wizards Unite Launching This Friday
By Alleef Ashaari|June 19, 2019|0 Comment
Pokémon Go developer Niantic has announced the release date for their highly-anticipated Harry Potter Wizards Unite AR mobile game. It will be releasing in the US and UK on 21 June 2019, with other regions to follow suit in the future.
Harry Potter Wizards Unite will be deriving content from both the original Harry Potter series and the Fantastic Beasts films. In the game’s story, the Wizarding World is suffering from The Calamity which causes artifacts, creatures, people, and even memories to mysteriously appear in the Muggle world.
Players will assume the role of a new recruit for the Statute of Secrecy Task Force, established by the Ministry of Magic and the International Confederation of Wizards for the purpose of investigating and containing The Calamity.
Just like Poké Balls in Pokémon Go, players consume Spell Energy to cast spells and will need to replenish them at Inns throughout the real world. Ingredients can also be found at Greenhouses to brew Potions, as well as Portmanteaus locations which will bring players to iconic Wizarding World locations by way of Portkeys.
It remains to be seen when or if Harry Potter Wizards Unite will be releasing in regions outside of the US and UK. Hopefully, it won’t be too long of a wait. In the meantime, check out the launch trailer for the game below.
