Someone Made A Super Mario Bros. Battle Royale Game And It’s Insanely Fun
By Alleef Ashaari|June 18, 2019|0 Comment
Someone has actually turned Super Mario Bros into a free-to-play and insanely fun battle royale version of itself. It’s created by a guy named InfernoPlus, who developed the game in only three weeks.
Simply titled Mario Royale, it’s a browser-based battle royale version of the original Super Mario Bros, where a total of 100 players will be dropped into a world. The first three players to reach Bowser’s castle at the end wins.
Players can’t actually interact with each other in Mario Royale. It’s as if they occupy the same space in another dimension, kind of like how the DC Multiverse works (comic book fans will get that reference).
However, players can still damage or halt the progress of other players by using Koopa shells, or break the block they’re standing on. That’s where the battle royale gameplay comes in. Plus, powerups like mushrooms are shared, so the players who manage to grab them will gain the upper hand.
Players can even control Mario with either their keyboards or controllers. In his video (in which he announces the game), InfernoPlus voices his worry that Nintendo would sue him. At the time of the writing, that hasn’t happened but seeing as it’s Nintendo, it could very well happen soon.
If you’re interested, head on over to this link to start playing the game now. Mario Royale is chaotic and fun, as most rounds only last for a couple of minutes or even several seconds.
