The Overwatch Summer Games 2019 Has Begun
By Burhanudin Zamri|July 18, 2019|0 Comment
It’s that time of the year, folks. The sun is shining bright and the Lucioball arena is open again. The Overwatch Summer Games 2019 is live and it ends on 5 August 2019 so don’t miss the chance to get exclusive items including some free skins and also play Lucioball!
Last week, Overwatch game director Jeff Kaplan appeared in a developer update video and announced that this year’s Summer Games would happen earlier. Last year, the Summer Games began on 9 August 2018 and in 2017 it began on 8 August. It was also announced that the upcoming 31st hero will be released a little later than usual.
For every week in the Summer Games, players will have a chance to get one free skin each week. For the first week, you’ll be able to get a skin for Reaper and then for Mei and Reinhardt on the second and third week respectively. All you have to do is win nine games and it applies for quick play, competitive and arcade mode. Winning three and six games will also get you some sprays and icons.
Aside from the free stuff, there are tons of new emotes, skins, and more that can now be acquired through either opening lootboxes or just buying them.
The main event of the Summer Games is the Lucioball mode and if you’re one of those people who’s tired of the usual FPS gameplay of Overwatch, I implore you to try out Lucioball. It’s super fun and if you do really well, there are even some exclusive sprays waiting for you.
