More high-octane jet action.
At San Diego Comic-Con 2019, Tom Cruise surprised everyone during Paramount Pictures’ Terminator: Dark Fate panel in Hall H when he appeared to announce Top Gun: Maverick, a sequel to his iconic 1986 action movie Top Gun.
Set 46 years after the events in the original Top Gun, the sequel will see Tom Cruise reprising his role as Pete “Maverick” Mitchell, who is now a flight instructor at the Top Gun school. He will be teaching a new generation of pilots, which includes the son of his deceased partner, Nick “Goose” Bradshaw.
The trailer for Top Gun: Maverick essentially shows Tom Cruis doing his usual action movie hero stuff, like piloting fighter jets, riding motorcycles, and doing crazy stunts. Directed by Joseph Kosinski, the movie will also star Miles Teller, Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm, Glen Powell, Lewis Pullman, and Ed Harris.
Top Gun: Maverick is slated to release on 26 June 2020. In the meantime, check out the trailer below.
