Esports Scene Mourns The Loss Of A StarCraft 2 Legend

Earlier today, a tweet was sent through Geoff “iNcontroL” Robinson‘s personal Twitter account announcing that the popular and beloved strategy games commentator has passed away due to sudden illness. He was 33 years old.

Geoff was a former captain and one of the founders of the Evil Geniuses StarCraft esports team. He was also a popular commentator for strategy games tournaments especially StarCraft and StarCraft II. He was one of the few people invited to play StarCraft II while it was in beta. In early 2018, he started a weekly podcast dedicated to talking about strategy games called The Pylon Show which was streamed on Twitch.

The esports community will sorely miss Geoff’s presence as he was one of the pioneers of the StarCraft esports scene and also esports as a whole. As mentioned in the tweet above, those of you who wish to honor Geoff are welcomed to donate to the Southern California Bulldog Rescue organisation.

May he rest in peace.
