Malaysia Esports Team Manager For SEA Games Announced
By Burhanudin Zamri|July 24, 2019|0 Comment
One of the biggest announcements at the end of last year was that the 2019 SEA Games will be the first SEA Game to feature esports as a medal sport. Razer CEO Min-Liang Tan had lobbied for the inclusion of esports into the SEA Games back in November 2018 and after successfully convincing the SEA Games Organizing Committee, it was also confirmed that Razer will be providing support in terms of hardware, software, and services needed for the esports events.
Recently, Esports Malaysia (ESM) announced that Firdaus Hashim AKA MasterRamen has been appointed as the Malaysian esports team manager for the 2019 SEA Games. As a director at Mineski Events Team Malaysia and former pro DOTA 2 player himself, Firdaus is definitely a good choice for the position. He’s currently an active streamer on Facebook and regularly plays PUBG Mobile.
The 30th Sea Games will be happening from 30 November to 11 December 2019 in the Philippines. Southeast Asian teams have been training and preparing themselves for the sports event and this includes each country’s respective esports team as well. The esports event will be contested across PC, console, and mobile with each platform featuring two video games. For PC, it’ll be DOTA 2 and StarCraft II. For mobile, Arena of Valor and Mobile Legends. Only Tekken 7 has been announced for console as of writing this article.
We at KKP wish MasterRamen all the best and will give him and all the Malaysian athletes our undying support. We also hope that ESM will give the esports athletes the proper facilities and coaching needed for them to excel at the SEA Games and bring home those gold medals!
