The Next Destiny 2 Seasonal Event Comes With New Legendary Gear And More

Bungie has recently announced the next seasonal event for Destiny 2. Beginning on 30 July and lasting until 27 August 2019, the Solstice of Heroes limited-time event will feature a host of interesting features and new gear. Get ready, Guardians.

On each day of the event, players can collect Elemental Orbs corresponding to the element of that specific day. The elements are: Solar, Arc, and Void. Collecting a set number of these orbs will allow you to upgrade your armour. If you manage to collect 30 orbs matching the daily element, you can get a temporary buff.

There will be a new time attack mode that can be played in a new area called the European Aerial Zone (EAZ). It’s a 3-player activity where you have to defeat as many minibosses as possible before time runs out. Once the timer reaches zero, a boss will appear and after defeating the boss, you get to explore the EAZ for loot. The more minibosses you defeat, the more treasure chests you can get.

Completing activities during the Solstice of Heroes will get you Solstice Key Fragments. These are used to open Solstice Packages that you can find through the EAZ activity I mentioned. Inside the packages you can find materials, enhancement cores, and even rare or legendary gear.

Speaking of gear, the update also comes with Drained armour sets that you can restore to their Renewed and Majestic conditions. You’ll need to complete a few objectives for each armour piece to upgrade them. The sets can Masterwork-ed and there will be extra objectives for that.

Seeing as how the upcoming Shadowkeep DLC will be introducing Armor 2.0, Bungie has done the smart thing of making the Solstice of Heroes armour set the first 2.0 armour you can acquire. Otherwise, it’d become obsolete really quickly. Armor 2.0 will basically revamp the way armour stats work in Destiny 2.

Last but not least, the update adds a bunch of new cosmetics and emotes such as these:
