Street Fighter V: Road To Tokyo Asia Invitational 2019 Announced
By Burhanudin Zamri|July 24, 2019|4 Comments
The month of August is going to be an interesting and exciting time for Street Fighter fans in Asia. The Street Fighter V: Asia Invitational 2019 will be held in Japan at the Tokyo Game Show (TGS) 2019 this September. To see who deserves a spot at the Asia Invitational, the Street Fighter V: Road To Tokyo Asia Invitational 2019 will be held in August. Here’s how it works:
Six countries will be taking part in the tournament:
The first qualifying tournament will pick the top four winners to form a team that represents each respective country. In the second qualifying round, the six country teams will battle against each other to find out who are the best three teams among them. The best three become Asia’s representative teams and will be invited to the Street Fighter V: Asia Invitational 2019 in Tokyo where they will go up against the Japanese and Korean teams.
Both of the qualifying rounds will be online-only. The first qualifier event will start on 7 August and end on 25 August 2019. The second qualifier event will be held on 30 August 2019. The finals event in Tokyo will be happening on 13 September 2019, the second day of TGS 2019. The team that wins the grand prize in Tokyo will bring home ¥1,000,000 (RM38,000).
The three invited country teams will also be invited to participate in the Capcom Pro Tour 2019 Asia Premier. Unlike the Asia Invitational 2019, the Asia Premier is an individual competition so the champion won’t have to divide the grand prize of Â¥5,000,000 (RM190,000).
Those who are interested can register now through the tournament’s official website here. You just have to make sure you’re 16 years of age at the time of registration.
